Fulton County Vaccine Mandate — Archived 2021 Discussion
Greg Fidlon appeared on FOX 5 Atlanta in August 2021 to discuss employment-law issues raised by Fulton County's consideration of a COVID-19 vaccination requirement for county employees.
At that time, then-current EEOC guidance recognized that public and private employers generally could impose vaccination requirements, subject to other applicable law. The discussion emphasized that an employer still had to consider reasonable accommodation for an employee who could not be vaccinated because of a disability or a sincerely held religious belief. Depending on the circumstances, possible accommodations could include testing, remote work, or another workplace adjustment.
This material is historical. COVID-19 rules, public-health guidance, and employment requirements changed substantially after 2021, so the segment should not be relied upon as a statement of current legal requirements.
