The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act - What You Need to Know

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) took effect on June 27, 2023, with the EEOC’s final regulations effective June 18, 2024. The law requires employers with 15 or more employees to provide reasonable accommodations for workers affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions - similar to ADA protections. Employers must engage in an interactive process and cannot require leave if another accommodation is available.

Legal Update - FTC Non-compete Ban

In April 2023, the FTC adopted a nationwide ban on non-compete agreements set to take effect in September 2024, but a Texas federal court struck down the rule, finding the FTC exceeded its authority.
